Privacy
Cosset has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no servers of ours. Your pets, their care, health records, memories and photos are kept on your devices and in your own iCloud, and shared only with the people you invite. We never receive any of it.
Everything you enter in Cosset (your pets and their profiles, routines and care logs, health records, diet and allergies, memories and photos, microchip and AirTag details, expenses and walks) is stored on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, it's also stored in your own iCloud account with Apple's CloudKit, so it appears on your other devices. We have no copy of it and no way to read it. Apple handles iCloud data under its own privacy policy.
Cosset contains no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking code, and it doesn't link anything to your identity.
If you invite people to share your pets, Cosset uses iCloud sharing. Everyone you invite sees the same pets, logs, health records, memories, expenses and walks, and the tasks show who did them. A pet sitter you invite sees the pets and their care, but not your spending, and their access ends when you end it. You can remove anyone at any time in Settings. Invitations and shared records go through Apple's iCloud, not through us.
Cosset doesn't read your photo library. When you add a photo to a memory, a health record or a pet's portrait, you choose it with the system's photo picker, and Cosset keeps its own copy. If you save a Moving book video, Cosset asks for permission to add it to your library; it can only add, not look.
Cosset asks for your location only while you use it, for two things, and you can decline both:
Cosset never sees where an AirTag is: its location stays in Apple's Find My, which Cosset can only open.
Some optional words are written with Apple Intelligence. A first draft of a day's memory is written on your device only, from that day's care log and photos. The words for a book's chapters and for a memorial tribute may use Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which Apple designs so that what is sent is used only to answer the request and isn't kept or seen by Apple; what is sent is the part of your pet's story that piece is about, such as names, dates, and the memories and milestones in it. If writing help isn't available, Cosset uses plain wording instead.
The lost poster, the vet summary, the pet-sitter sheet, the book PDF, the Moving book video and the spending spreadsheet are made on your device. They go only where you send them with the share sheet. The contact details you put on a lost poster stay on your device and on the poster.
Reminders are scheduled on your device; they aren't sent from a server. Widgets and Siri read a small summary of tonight's care that the app keeps on your device. Stickers you make are kept on your device for Cosset's sticker pack in Messages; a sticker you send goes through Messages like any other.
Cosset Plus is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether it's unlocked; we receive no payment details, no Apple Account information and no purchase history.
Delete a pet, a memory or a record in the app and it's deleted on your devices and in your iCloud. Deleting the app removes what it keeps on that device; to remove what's in iCloud as well, delete Cosset's data in your device's iCloud settings. There is nothing on our side to delete.
Cosset collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
