Privacy Policy

The short version

Lodemate collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no servers of ours, and the game has no networking code of its own. Your progress stays on your device. If you buy something, Apple handles the purchase, and we never see who you are.

What Lodemate is

Lodemate is a chess puzzle game for iPhone and iPad in which magnets move the pieces. Its puzzles, its daily puzzle, its arenas and its chess engine are all in the download and run on your device. A game against a friend is played on the same device, passed between you; nothing is played over a network.

Information we collect

None. Lodemate has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no crash-reporting service, no leaderboards and no third-party SDKs. The game makes no network connections of its own. We do not know how many people play Lodemate, how far they get, or whether they play at all, because none of that is ever sent anywhere.

Where your progress lives

Lodemate keeps its own settings on your device: which puzzles you have solved and their stars, the guides you have seen, your record against the engine and any game left open, the board and pieces you chose, and your other settings.

The days you solved the daily puzzle, and the board and pieces you chose, are kept in a space shared only between Lodemate and its own home-screen widget (an app group), so the widget can show your streak and today's board in your colours. No other app can read it. Everything is protected by iOS Data Protection like anything else on your device. Nothing is synced to a server we operate, because there is no server we operate. A backup you make yourself, to iCloud or to a computer, is between you and Apple and is governed by Apple's policies rather than this one.

What the app asks your device for

Lodemate's privacy manifest declares one thing: it reads and writes its own settings, and the widget's shared settings, for the ordinary reason of remembering what you chose. It asks for no permissions at all — no camera, no microphone, no location, no contacts, no notifications, no tracking.

Purchases

Lodemate is free to play. Lodemate Full and the two style packs are one-time in-app purchases made through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the game only that the purchase was made, so it can open what you bought; we receive no payment details and nothing that identifies you. When you buy or restore, iOS talks to the App Store on the game's behalf; that exchange is Apple's, under Apple's privacy policy. There are no subscriptions and no advertising.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app, and its widget with it, removes everything it has kept. Settings has a Reset progress button that forgets your solved puzzles, your streak and your record against the engine. Purchases belong to your Apple Account, not to the game's data, and come back with Restore purchases. There is no remote copy of anything else for us to delete, because none was ever made.

Children's privacy

Lodemate does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age. Since the game collects nothing at all, this applies equally to every player.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a future version of Lodemate ever added anything that connects to the internet, this page would say so, in plain words, before that version was released.
