Privacy
Back on the Air does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data — with us or anyone else. There are no accounts and no servers of ours, and the game has no networking code of its own. Your shelf is saved on your device and, if you are signed in, in your own iCloud, where it is yours and not ours to read.
Back on the Air is a single-player tube-radio repair game for iPad. You find what is wrong with an old radio, mend it, clean its cabinet, and listen to it play. There is nothing to sign in to and nobody else to play against.
None. Back on the Air has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no crash-reporting service and nothing to buy. There is no networking code in the app: it never opens a connection to send us, or anyone else, anything at all. We do not know how many people play it, which sets they finish, or whether they play, because none of that is ever sent anywhere.
Your progress is kept in this app's own preferences on your device: which tickets are finished, how each set's cabinet was left, its grade, and where each set on the shelf was last tuned. A set in the middle of a repair is not saved.
These preferences belong to Back on the Air alone, with no app group or shared container, so no other app can read them. They are protected by iOS Data Protection like anything else on your device. A backup you make yourself, to iCloud or to a computer, is between you and Apple and is governed by Apple's policies rather than this one.
So that your shelf is the same on another iPad, the same save is also written to your iCloud key-value store. Two points about that:
What travels is the save itself and nothing else: ticket numbers, cabinet states, grades and dial positions. There is nothing about you in it.
The station's programmes and the distant stations at night follow your device's clock and day of the week. The time is read on the device, used there, and never stored or sent.
There are none. Back on the Air is bought once and is then complete: no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs of any kind.
Everything you hear, from the hum to the station's programmes, is generated on your device by the simulated radio. The game has no microphone access and records nothing.
Deleting the app removes everything it has kept on your device. To remove the iCloud copy as well, delete the app's data for Back on the Air in the Settings app under your name, iCloud. There is no remote copy of it for us to delete, because none was ever made to us.
Back on the Air does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age. Since the game collects nothing at all, this applies equally to every player.
If this policy ever changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
