Tap Plant, choose white clover and tap a few soil tiles near the hive. The flowers sprout and then bloom, and only blooming flowers make nectar. The bees find them on their own. The ring on the Harvest button fills toward the next jar; when it is full, tap Harvest, drag the knife across the frame, circle the drum to spin it, then hold to pour. Until your first jar, a line at the top says what to do next.
Probably not. A day in Nectar is fifteen minutes long, and at night the bees stay in the hive, as they do during a rainy day's shower and a winter's snow. They go out again when it clears. If it is daytime and dry, check that you have flowers in bloom: faded flowers make nothing until you clear them and plant again.
No. Nothing withers and nothing is lost. When you come back, up to four hours of time away is caught up, honey included. Faded beds wait to be cleared, and the colony never collapses. Mites build up slowly and slow the queen if left untreated, but they never kill the hive.
A jar's colour is worked out from the flowers the bees visited. Some honeys, buckwheat above all, are much darker than others, and a little of a dark honey darkens a jar more than you would expect. For a pale jar, plant borage, lavender or orange blossom and keep buckwheat away.
Neighbours ask for a kind of honey: one flower, a colour, or a blend. When a jar on your shelf fits, Send is lit on the order. Sending pays honey and XP, and the jar stays on your shelf, tagged as sent. Orders never expire, and "Not now" swaps one you would rather not fill.
An iCloud account signed in on your device. There is no other sign-up. Tap Town, give your garden a name and join. Without iCloud, the rest of the game works exactly the same. What joining publishes, and what it does not, is on the privacy page.
Touch and hold a garden or a jar in the town, then choose Report or Block. A report comes to us with what you reported and why. Blocking hides that player's garden and jars from you straight away, on this device.
In the town, open Stall and tap Leave the town. Your garden, your jars for sale and your show entries are deleted from the town, and unsold jars come back to your shelf. Your garden in the game is not touched, and you can join again any time. What stays behind is described on the privacy page.
Names, signs and labels pass a word filter before anyone else sees them. If yours was refused, change the words: in Decorate, under the hive and sign, for the sign and name, and with Edit label in the pantry for a jar.
Nectar asks about reminders once, after your first jar, and sends nothing unless you agree. You can change your mind in the menu or in iOS Settings. Sound effects, the garden's buzz and haptics each have their own switch in the menu, and the Ring/Silent switch silences the game. Its sound plays alongside your own music rather than stopping it.
Nectar is one app for iPhone and iPad. It is not offered on the Mac or on Apple Vision Pro.
Your garden is saved in the app's own storage on your device, so deleting the app deletes it. A device backup that included Nectar restores it with the app. The copy of your garden in the town is for other players to visit; it cannot be loaded back into the game.
The town is shared by everyone who plays Nectar, of every age. Joining it means agreeing to these rules. They cover everything other players can read: your garden's name, its sign, and the labels on the jars you sell or enter in the show.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content in the town. A word filter checks every name, sign and label before it is published, but a filter misses things, so every garden and jar in the town can be reported. We read the reports, and anything that breaks these rules is taken down, without warning. A player who breaks them repeatedly can be removed from the town.
If you see something that breaks the rules, report it from the town, or write to us with the garden's name.
