Privacy
Your decks, stars, ghost laps and settings live on your device. If you publish a deck to the Circuit, Deslot keeps that deck, its ghost lap and the name you race under in iCloud, so other players can race it; your weekly votes and any reports you make are kept there too. That is all it keeps, and it is only ever used to run the Circuit. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no servers of ours.
Deslot is a slot-car racing game for iPhone and iPad: a floating deck of hexagonal tiles, a track you build on it, and one throttle. You race a computer rival, five worlds of events, friends on the same device or nearby, players online, and the ghosts of other players' laps.
Everything you do alone: the decks you build and what you put on them, your stars and best times in the worlds, your ghost laps, the car and trim you chose, and the name you race under. It is kept in the app's own storage and preferences, and none of it is sent anywhere unless you publish a deck.
The Table is everyone on one device; nothing leaves it. Nearby connects devices in the same room directly, with Apple's Multipeer Connectivity, and encrypted. While you race, the devices exchange only what the race needs: each racer's name and car, the track, and the throttle and positions as you drive. Nothing is kept afterwards and nothing passes through a server. iOS asks once whether Deslot may look for devices on your local network; Nearby needs that, and nothing else does.
Online races are matched by Apple's Game Center, under Apple's privacy policy. Deslot sees your Game Center player identifier only to agree with the other players on who hosts the race, and keeps nothing about you or them. During the race the same things are exchanged as Nearby, through Game Center.
The Circuit is stored in the public database of Deslot's iCloud container, which Apple runs:
Each of these records is owned by an identifier iCloud gives you for Deslot alone. It is not your Apple Account, your name or your email address; Deslot never sees those, and other players cannot learn them from the Circuit.
Other players can see your deck, your ghost and the name you race under. That is the point of the Circuit, so please do not race under your real name or anything personal. Names pass a word filter before anyone sees them.
No contact details, no location, no contacts, no photos, no advertising identifier, no analytics, no crash reports and no usage data. There are no third-party SDKs in the app. Deslot does not track you across other apps or websites.
Deslot's privacy manifest declares that it reads and writes its own preferences (to remember your choices) and that it reads the time since the device started (to move the race on between frames). The only permission it asks for is the local network, and only when you open Nearby. It asks for no camera, microphone, location, contacts or photo library access, and sends no notifications.
Deleting the app removes everything kept on your device. A deck you published stays on the Circuit until it is deleted, so delete it first: in Race others, open The Circuit and tap Take it off the Circuit. Your deck and its ghost are deleted at once. The votes you cast and the reports you made carry no name and stay, as part of other players' weeks.
If you have already deleted the app, or would like anything else removed, write to support@pablin.me with the name you raced under.
Decks and names that break the Circuit rules may be removed at any time.
There are none. Deslot has no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no advertising. Every car, world and piece is earned by racing.
Deslot does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age. The Circuit asks for no personal information: only a name to race under, which should not be your own.
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page, and describe the change here if it affects what the Circuit keeps.
