Replay Breakdown does not collect, transmit or share any of your data — with us or with anybody else. There are no accounts and no servers of ours, and the app has no networking code of its own. Your clips are read where the photo library keeps them, drawings and recordings stay on your device, and nothing goes anywhere unless you send it yourself.
Replay Breakdown is a video tool for iPhone and iPad. You open a clip from your photo library, step through it frame by frame, draw and measure on it, compare it with another clip, talk it through, and export the result to send. There is nothing to sign in to.
None. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising identifiers and no crash-reporting service. The app never opens a connection to send us — or anyone else — anything at all. We do not know how many people use it, what they film, or whether they use it, because none of that is ever sent anywhere.
The app asks for access to your photo library when you first choose a clip, never at launch. Limited access is enough: you can allow only the clips you want to open. It needs access, rather than using the system picker alone, because the picker hands over a playback copy of a slow-motion clip with most of its frames missing. With access, the app copies the clip's original file into its own temporary folder for as long as you work on it, and removes it afterwards; the original stays in your library, untouched.
Add-only access is used by the share sheet's "Save Video", when you choose to save an export back to your library.
The app asks for the microphone only when you first press it to record a voiceover. It records only while a voiceover is being recorded, into the app's temporary folder. The recording is used for that take's playback and export, and it is deleted when you discard the take or close the clip.
Drawings are saved on your device, in the app's own storage, next to the photo library's identifier for the clip they were drawn on, so they're there when you open it again. They are never sent anywhere. A backup you make yourself, to iCloud or to a computer, is between you and Apple and is governed by Apple's policies rather than this one.
Videos and stills you export are written to the app's temporary folder and handed to the system share sheet. Where they go from there — Messages, AirDrop, your library — is your choice, made in Apple's share sheet.
Replay Breakdown is free, with one optional in-app purchase that removes the mark from exported videos and exports comparisons and voiceovers. That purchase goes through Apple's App Store. Apple tells the app whether it has been bought and nothing else: we receive no payment details, no Apple Account name, and no record of who bought it. StoreKit is the only part of the app that talks to a network, and it talks to Apple.
Replay Breakdown is not directed at children and collects nothing from anybody, of any age.
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Since the app collects nothing, a change would mean the app had started doing something it does not do today, and it would be said plainly in the release notes as well as here.
