Shot More Than Once

Sharp takes many frames of the same scene and gives back one picture: a focus stack, an average, a crowd removed, a light trail, the sharpest frame of a burst. Version 1.2 is the first that ran on a real iPad, and what that run found shaped the rest of it: rotation in the aligner, a way to choose the one setting nothing could choose automatically, a sixth tool for exposure brackets, long brackets stacked in slabs, and retouches that can be opened again. Six articles, one a week, each with the code that does it and the number that says it works.

01 What Ran Out Was the Disk The first runs on a real iPad: a launch argument that stacks with no screen, the headroom iOS gives an app, and a memory footprint that stayed flat while the scratch file did not.
